|Basic Japanese and Korean Language classes
|Dear Friends in the Industry,
As you may all know, effective January 2011, MAS will operate flights three (3) times a week from Tokyo's Haneda Airport, twice a week from Kansai Airport in Osaka and four (4) times a week from Incheon Airport in Seoul to Kuching via Kota Kinabalu. STB anticipates that Sarawak will attract 40,000 Japanese & Korean tourists next year.
However, an issue of concern is the lack of Japanese & Korean speaking local tourist guides in Sarawak. To get over the problem, in the medium term, STF has jointly proposed with SkTGA for the need to conduct basic Japanese & Korean language classes to break the communication barrier between our local tourist guides and visiting Japanese / Korean tourists.
We are happy to inform that Basic Japanese & Korean language classes are confirmed to commence in December 2010, for a duration of 3 months.
